The last day of Camp NaNoWriMo

Today is the last day of the April session of Camp NaNoWriMo, and even having revised my word count goal, I'm behind.  I need to do the equivalent of 3,000 words by the end of the day (since I'm doing revisions and outlining, that's not a precise science) in order to "win."  Since I don't have an actual manuscript with which to validate, I'll use a lorem ipsum generator to create a block of text the correct length for validation.  (I did this last summer too, when I worked on revisions instead of actual writing.)

In the spirit of the challenge, though, I'm not going to let myself do this unless I've actually earned it -- that is to say, if I want to assign 3k of words to my word count today, I'll have to put in 3k's worth of work.  That likely means working on my novel the rest of the afternoon until I have to go to work, and any time I have this evening after work.  I do have to head to the barn for a bit this evening for a chiro appointment for my horses, but once I'm done with that I will hopefully have four hours or so to work on my novel until midnight rolls around.

The next session of Camp NaNo is in July, of course, so there will be more fun to be had then.  In the meantime, I intend to finish my NaNo '13 novel, so that by the time July is here I'll be back to work on Ruby Ransome!
